Sardegna, PS14: Latvala si riprende subito
Il finnico precede con la Vw il sorprendente Paddon che guadagna terreno su Ogier
Jari-Matti Latvala ha voluto imprimere il suo segno nella PS14 dopo i problemi nella prova precedente: il finlandese ha svettato nella Monte Lerno di 42,22 km con la Volkswagen Polo R WRC che nel Rally Italia Sardegna è costretta a inseguire, anche se a un riconteggio dei tempi è stata portata al quinto posto assoluto, scavalcando Thierry Neuville.
Il leader della corsa, Hayden Paddon mostra di saper tenere a bada il campione del mondo, Sebastien Ogier. Il francese pensava di poter riagguantare l'australiano con una certa facilità, ma la Hyundai i20 guidata dal 28enne non perde un colpo. E sebbene abbia accusato un po' di sottosterzo nella speciale lunga e non si sia ritrovato con alcune note, Paddon ha potuto allungare leggermente il vantaggio su Sebastien Ogier portandolo a 9"9.
Ott Tanak difende il terzo posto con la Ford Fiestra RS davanti a Mads Ostberg che con la Citroen DS3 ha accusato una foratura lenta di cui si è reso conto con grande ritardo. Sono definitivamente usciti di scena tanto Sordo che Prokop. Tiene duro Paolo Andreucci: "Fa veramente caldo. Le pietre sono ovunque e non è facile guidare. Ho faticato a trovare il ritmo, stavolta non è andata benissimo".
