Francia, PS5: Latvala ritenta lo strappo
Prosegue il duello con l'altra Polo di Mikkelsen, ora staccata di 4"5. Testacoda per Kubica
Continua il botta e risposta tra Jari-Matti Latvala ed Andreas Mikkelsen nel Rally di Francia. I due piloti della Volkswagen hanno aperto la forbice sul resto del gruppo lungo i ben 34,34 previsti per il secondo passaggio sulla "Pays d'Ormont", valido come PS5. Questa volta è stato il finlandese ad avere la meglio, staccando di 4"3 l'altra Polo R WRC, che quindi ora è distanziata di 4"5 nella classifica generale della corsa.
Inizia a perdere colpi Kris Meeke, il cui gap dalla vetta è salito a 17"2. Il britannico però ha detto di avere delle strane sensazioni al volante a fine prova, temendo che la sua Citroen DS3 WRC possa avere qualche problema al differenziale. Fortunatamente per lui la prossima prova sarà più breve, inoltre il suo vantaggio sugli inseguitori è ampio.
Per trovare la Hyundai i20 WRC di Dani Sordo bisogna coprire infatti un buco di ben 26"1, inoltre lo spagnolo è riuscito a guadagnare terreno sulla Citroen di Mads Ostberg. Più indietro invece un testacoda è costato la sesta posizione alla Ford di Robert Kubica, che è stata superata dall'altra Fiesta RS WRC di Mikko Hirvonen. Più indietro poi bisogna segnalare che Elfyn Evans si è riguadagnato un posto nella top ten.
