Sardegna, PS18: Ogier allunga e Paddon in difficoltà
La Vw chiude la tappa con il francese che ha un vantaggio di 26 secondi sulla Hyundai
Sebastien Ogier ha rimesso le cose a posto: il campione del mondo ha preso il controllo del Rally Italia Sardegna e allunga in testa alla classifica con la Vw Polo R Wrc nella SS18 su Hayden Paddon. Il neozelandeseo dopo il testacoda nella SS17 ha accusato un problema alla trasmissione che lo ha costretto a ridurre il passo.
Il pilota della Hyundai prima di chiudere la giornata deve ancora affrontare l'insidiosa prova di Monte Lerno: il 28enne si merita di mantenere la seconda posizione con la i20 WRC dopo aver condotto una giornata da campione. Mads Ostberg con la Citroen è in difesa della terza posizione assoluta, mentre Jari-Matti Latvala ha dovuto rinunciare al quarto posto perché il guaio all'ammortizzatore posteriore sinistro è risultato più grave del previsto.
La quarta piazza è stata ereditata da Thierry Neuville con la seconda Hyundai i20 e la quinta è stata agguantata da Elfyn Evans con la Ford Fiesta RS WRC. La Polo del finlandese, quindi, è scivolata alla sesta posizione, mentre Paolo Andreucci in WRC2 ha dovuto cedere lo scettro a Yuuri Protasov con la Fiesta RRC: il toscano ha risentito dei problemi della prova precedente. Si è trovato in speciale con il cofano aperto e la Andreussi lìha chiuso dopo essere scesa dalla 208 T16.
