Portogallo, PS12: Ogier si porta in terza posizione
La prova sorride ancora alle Volkswagen, perché Latvala rimette a 10"7 Meeke. Paddon intanto risale sesto
Le Volkswagen hanno continuato a dettare il ritmo anche nella PS12 del Rally del Portogallo, con Sebastien Ogier che ha infilato la seconda vittoria di speciale consecutiva lungo i 26,30 km della "Marao 2". Un risultato importante per il pilota francese, che è riuscito a portare la sua Polo R WRC al terzo posto nella classifica generale della corsa, saltando davanti alla gemella di Andreas Mikkelsen di 3"7.
Questa prova comunque ha sorriso anche al leader Jari-Matti Latvala, autore del secondo tempo. Anche se di poco, il finlandese è riuscito nuovamente ad estendere il suo vantaggio nei confronti della Citroen DS3 WRC di Kris Meeke, che ora lo segue in seconda piazza a 10"7.
Detto del quarto posto nella generale di Mikkelsen, dietro di lui Ott Tanak ha consolidato ulteriormente il quinto posto della sua Ford Fiesta RS WRC, ma in sesta piazza c'è stato il doppio salto della Hyundai i20 WRC di un ottimo Hayden Paddon, che in un colpo solo è riuscito a liberarsi del compagno di squadra Dani Sordo e della Citroen di Mads Ostberg. A seguire poi troviamo sempre Robert Kubica e Martin Prokop.
