Brad Keselowski esce incolume dall'inferno di Talladega e vince
A Talladega succede di tutto: due incidenti mettono fuori causa quasi la metà dei partecipanti e a vincere è un incisivo Brad Keselowski, davanti a un ancora positivo Kyle Busch e Austin Dillon.

Brad Keselowski è riuscito a centrare la vittoria a Talladega, in una gara di NASCAR Sprint Cup che sarà ricordata non certo per il risultato finale quanto per gli incidenti che l'hanno animata. Dietro al pilota del team Penske, al volante della sua Ford, ha tagliato il traguardo Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing) e Austin Dillon (Richard Childress Racing).
Il primo incidente della gara è avvenuto al ventesimo giro, quando Jimmie Johnson è stato centrato da Kurt Bush e, a sua volta, ha toccato Paul Menard, innescando un incidente che ha coinvolto più di un terzo dello schieramento.
Il secondo incidente di grande portata è avvenuto a pochi giri dal termine, quando Matt Kenseth è stato urtato da Danica Patrick, finendo per decollare contro le barriere esterne dell'impianto di Talladega. A muro sono finiti anche Joey Logano e Kevin Harvick, entrambi coinvolti nel medesimo incidente.
Keselowski ha invece preferito attendere nelle prime fasi di gara, correndo nella parte centrale del gruppo, per poi aumentare l'aggressività nella seconda parte e portare i sorpassi decisivi che gli hanno consentito di andare a cogliere un bel successo. Fuori causa anche Dale Earnhardt Jr dopo un contatto con Carl Edwards, che lo ha fatto finire contro le barriere.
