Red Bull Kart Fight 2012 World Final Bologna

Shinji Sawada is the Red Bull Kart Fight World Champion. At the end of 28 incredible laps it came down to a plastic crunching clash with 23 year old Russian Vasily Rozhkov through the final corners but it was the 13 year old Japanese who emerged ahead and took the title in front of the packed grandstands at the Bologna Motor Show in Italy. To the Russian went the consolation of the fastest lap in each of Sunday's 3 races but it was Sawada who stood on the top of the podium. On his left was Ivan Višak, the 19 year old Croatian who snatched 3rd after an intense battle that left Fábio Corrêa Konrad, the 20 year old Brazilian 4th ahead of 24 year old Italian Mirko Laurito who had been the fastest man at the end of Saturday's qualifying sessions.
