Daniel Abt il più veloce nella due giorni di test al Lausitzring

With a lap time of 1:17.735 minutes, Daniel Abt (Signature) was the fastest driver on the second and last day of the official Formula 3 Euro Series mid-season tests at the 3.442-kilometre Lausitzring. In the end, Abt defeated Nigel Melker (Mücke Motorsport, 1:17.756 minutes) by just 0.021 seconds. Laurens Vanthoor (Signature, 1:17.934 minutes) and Daniel Juncadella (Prema Powerteam, 1:18.046) secured third and fourth positions on the time sheets. Daniel Abt set his fastest lap time in the morning session and throughout the day, no other driver was able to go faster. "Finally I'm back at the very top of a ranking," beamed the Signature driver. In the afternoon, he could complete just five laps due to a clutch problem but even that didn't make an impact on his good mood. "We had run out of fresh tyres anyway and in addition, we had nearly completed our scheduled programme." Felix Rosenqvist (Mücke Motorsport, 1:18.101 minutes) came fifth, followed by the current championship leader Roberto Merhi (Prema Powerteam, 1:18.152) and his new team-mate Gianmarco Raimondo (Prema Powerteam, 1:18.234). Marco Wittmann (Signature, 1:18243 minutes) secured eighth position, ahead of Kimiya Sato (Motopark, 1:18.267) and Jimmy Eriksson (Motopark, 1:18.329). The next Formula 3 Euro Series race weekend, the season highlight at the Norisring, will be held from 01st to 03rd July in Nuremberg.
